Head of Kelapa Gading District's Water Resources Unit, Jhoni Sariyanto Situmorang said the retaining wall collapsed due to damage in several areas, coupled with persistent rain, leaving the retaining wall unable to support the soil.

He explained, the 2.5-meter-high retaining wall repairs are carried out over a 60-meter length. Nine Blue Taskforce personnel are deployed for the work.
"We also deploy one mini excavator to accelerate the work," he explained.
He added that the work has been running since November 3, 2025. The progress reaches 15 percent.
"After completing this work, we will dredge the channel," he added.
Head of Kelapa Gading District, Anita Permata Sari appreciated the work.
"Hopefully the new retaining wall will be able to hold the water especially during heavy rain," she hoped.
